Training days @Explora

5 days, 15 participants, 4 European countries: the training at Explora, the Children’s Museum of Rome, from October 1st to 5th, was a real success.

First day: participans were welcomed and introduced by University of Bologna and Explora in a presentation of the training week. After a presentation about extra-soil gardens and a focus on the different garden types, wood boxes and budget for materials, partners received technical guidelines.

Second day of training at Explora: partners participated in a training about integrated pest management on wood boxes’ gardens and planted together for the autumn season in the school soil garden at Istituto Comprensivo Claudio Abbado.

Day 3 was dedicated to discover preparation of the soil, planting for autumn, irrigation  and management and maintenance. The training continued with an Hydroponic lesson about theory and practise, how to make seeds papers and educational tests & kitchen workshops for children from 3 to 5 years old.

Day 4: partners partecipated to a study visit at LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome, to understand how to manage a community garden, with the involvement of students and citizens.

The last day was useful to present the local dissemination event organised at Explora with workshops for families.
